Principal's MessageDear Visitor
I have great pleasure in welcoming you to this premier Jesuit college which, throughout its 61-year history, has unfailingly remained one of the forerunners of both educational excellence and human excellence, and which, by both intention and philosophy, has invited men and women, diverse in talents, interests and cultural backgrounds, to enrich its educational community and advance its mission.
Inheriting such a rich legacy should be at once exhilarating and humbling for any person who takes the helm, and, as the fifteenth one in the long line of illustrious principals, it will be my duty – no less my pleasure – to carry this legacy of excellence and diversity further forward and enrich it by diversifying and strengthening our mission in at least four areas – teaching-learning, research, creative work, and social action.
‘Desamante matti kaadoyi, / Desamante manushuloyi,’ urged Gurazada. Such indeed is the case with a college: a college owes its greatness to its people. Given that the people of ALC hold fast to the values that have guided the college in the past five-and-a-half decades, I am confident that it will have a stable and well-guided transition into the future and be prepared to face the challenges ahead of us in higher education.
It is indeed a comforting thought as we get ready to move into our diamond jubilee year.
Fr Dr G A Peter Kishore, SJ
