The subject of Physics is based on strong theoretical foundations and experimental findings. The department of Physics is one of the oldest and established departments since 1954. The department has contributed towards the holistic development of the college. Our Department is committed to imparting high-quality education based on a strong academic curriculum comprising elements of theoretical concepts, laboratory experiments, and most importantly hands-on experiments.
Salient features of the Department
- I) Research
The department of Physics carries out successful research in the field of Physics. At present, the department has 8 doctorates in Physics, and 4 M.Phils. Two of our members have submitted thesis for their award of Ph.D. The remaining people are continuing their research work.
- a) Laboratory Facilities
Department of Physics has a very good lab. It is developed by the funding received from DST, FIST and the management of our college. It has all the apparatus which is necessary to give the Hands-on experience to the students at both under graduate and graduate students. Our lab is equipped with the following research apparatus.
- UV Spectro Photometer
- Micro controller furnace
- Muffle furnaces with different temperature ranges
- Abbe Refractometer
- Electronic Balances
- LCR meter
b) Our department has been granted a Research center by the Krishna University and four of our members have been designated as Research guides.
