Establishment of Model Nursery- STMB , Andhra Pradesh sanctioned a major research project to Dr. B. Siva Kumari on Conservation, maintenance and Cultivation of medicinal plants Objective: To meet the requirement of quality planting material for cultivation, and to maintain clonal/seed orchids. Cultivation of locally important medicinal plants is to be raised consecutively for 3 years @ not supply to farmers/Growers

Establishment and maintenance of Herbal garden: NMPB, New Delhi sanctioned a minor research project to Dr. B. Siva Kumari on Establishment and maintenance of Herbal garden.

Dr. B. Siva Kumari, Dept. of Botany, has been awarded a Major Research Project entitled “Establishment of Moderl Nursery” by the State Medicinal Plant Board, Hyderabad, with a grant of Rs.20 Lakhs, on 2nd January 2014.

Dr. B. Siva Kumari, Dept. of Botany, is continuing her UGC-sanctioned Major Research Project on “Biology-Nano Materials-Green Nanotechnology”. The grant sanctioned for the Project is Rs.11, 87, 000/- for a period of three years.

Dr. B. Siva Kumari, Dept. of Botany, has been awarded a Minor Research Project entitled “Establishment of Herban Garden” by the National Medicinal Plant Board, New Delhi, with a grant of Rs.2, 60, 000/- on 2nd January 2014.

Co-Investigator of a U.G.C. Minor Research Project along with Dr. Kannamba, Dept. of Chemistry, ALC, with a Grant of Rs.2.05 lakh for two years for the project entitled Qualitative and quantitative analysis of bioactive compound from rare medicinal plants.- 2014.

Dr. M.C. Rao, Dept. of Physics, is continuing his work on a three year UGC-funded Major Research Project entitled Growth and Characterization ofLiCoO2 and LiMn2O4 Thin Film Cathodes for Novel Microbattery Application for which he is in receipt of UGC grant of Rs.13.57 lakhs (3 years).

Dr. D. Bala Karuna Kumar, Dept. of Chemistry, has been awarded a Minor Research Project entitled “Thermodynamic, Spectral and Transport Studies of Molecular Interactions in Binary Liquid Mixtures of N-Methyl-2-Pyrrolidone” by the UGC, New Delhi, with a grant of Rs.2, 60, 000/- on 27th May 2014.

Dr. B. Kannamba, PG Dept. of Chemistry, was sanctioned a Minor Research Project entitled “Qualitative and Quantitative Analysis of Bio Active Compounds from Rare Medicinal Plants” by the UGC with a grant of Rs.2, 05, 000/- on 18th November 2014.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) sanctioned four Minor Research Projects worth Rs. 6, 85, 000/- in October, 2016 to Dr. G.V. Ramana of Chemistry, Dr. G. Sahaya Bhaskaran of Physics, Dr. K. Sekhar of Telugu and Ms. V. Kavitha of Biotechnology Departments respectively of our College.
